Equestrian Classes

Pony Pals
Ages 5 to 8
This program is designed to introduce young children to the wonders of horses. This week-long course instructs young horse enthusiasts in the care and feeding of horses, the safety standards needed to work around horses, and the basics of horsemanship and riding. The program starts with classroom instruction each day where the kids will learn the "vocabulary" of the horse world -- words like "hoof" and "withers" then move to a hands-on experience in the barn. Students will receive four riding lessons. The final day of their session is a recital for parents to demonstrate their horse skills. Highlights of the program include a CD of pictures of the student's horse experiences all week, a fun, take-home horsey craft, a workbook and the memories of a lifetime!

Young Riders
Ages 5 to 8
Let’s go horseback riding! In this 4-week Saturday program, young riders will learn how to groom, tack and care for horses while learning to ride. Riders will practice their skills in a 200’ indoor arena, and have fun navigating over a bridge, across poles and around cones. Riders will receive  individualized instruction as they experience their first trotting steps. On the last day of class riders will be presented with rosette ribbons during an awards  ceremony after showing off their horseback riding skills for guests. Young riders need to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult who is willing to participate during the lesson. Class size is limited to maximize one-on-one attention.
