Family Internet
Safety
Students use the
Internet to research school reports,
communicate with teachers and other kids, and play interactive online
games.
However, kids can encounter dangerous situations, from viewing
inappropriate
materials to being asked for face-to-face meetings with strangers. In
this
hands-on workshop, kids will learn Internet safety rules to help them
have a
positive Internet experience and learn what can be done to keep
themselves safe
online. Though parents and children will be grouped separately during
class,
children must be accompanied by a parent. (Parent must co-enroll in
CECC 660
and pay a separate course fee.) For ages 10 and up

Parents and Tots
"Learn to Skate" I
Now
moms and dads with kids ages 3 to 5 can spend some quality time
together learning the fundamentals of ice skating! This program is
designed to teach a parent or other caregiver how to help their child
with the basic skills of skating. Group lessons will focus on sitting
and standing up with skates on (off and on ice), stopping, and forward
and backward skating. This is a great opportunity for parents and tots
to socialize with people of similar interests while spending quality
time together. Parents and tots should wear warm, comfortable clothing;
helmets are required for children. Class fee includes parent and child
and skate rental for both. Classes will be held at the East Alton Ice
Arena.
