Meet the Instructors!
Elizabeth Adams Marks
...has 25 years experience as an educational illustrator for publishers
across the country. For the past five years she has been the K-12 art
teacher for Lahr-Well Academy in Glen Carbon. She is completing her
degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education.
Gloria
Darr
...earned a masters
degree in elementary education and has been an education consultant for
25
years. Gloria loves telling stories and has an extensive collection of
children’s books. She writes songs for preschoolers and has directed
many
children’s musicals and plays.
Brad Keim
...earned his BFA from SIUC in drawing/painting. While attending SIUC,
he had a comic strip for the Daily Egyptian university newspaper and
the Pulse Entertainment Weekly Magazine. He is currently the editorial
cartoonist for SIUE's The Alestle, and caricaturist for SIUC's Student
Programs and Center Events.
Lisa Lucker
...has been a teaching assistant with Region III special Education
Co-op for 7 years. She organizes a lot of student activities for
students in many classes, and teaches cooking to special needs students.
Abra-Kid-Abra
...helps kids develop their persentation skills and their confidence by
teaching after-school enrichment classes and summer camps. Curriculum
areas include magic, juggling, animal balloons, circus skills, and
comedy. Abra-Kid-Abra founder, Jeff Lefton, has performed and taught
magic professional in the great St. Louis area since 1969.
Sara Miller
...is
a Certified Kinderdance Early Childhood Movement Specialist. She
teaches dance, gymnastics and creative movement to young children, and
has taught ballet for 11 years at a local studio.
Susan Millard
...has been the Love and Learn Coordinator for the Carlinville School
District's Birth to Three program for nine years. She enjoys cooking
with her kids and likes to travel.
Chrystal Gallaci
...is an accomplished musician, vocalist and instructor of Spanish
language and culture. She has lived, taught and travelled in several
Spanish-speaking countries and has worked with children of all ages.
Yvette Booker
...is an award-winning local artist and weaver whose artistry has been
featured at the St. Louis African Arts Festival, Jacoby Arts Center in
Alton, and in the annual ArtEast studio tour.
Mary Willis
...is a talented artist and cartoonist who will graduate this Spring
from Lewis and Clark Community College. This Fall she will continue her
education and develop her love of teaching at SIUE where she will
pursue a B.A. in Art Education.
Amy Harmon
...earned an Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from SIUE and currently
teaches Design I and Art History at Lewis and Clark Community College
and Drawing I at Jefferson College.
Jason Lux
...is a dedicated student of art who is finishing his Associates in
Fine Arts degree at Lewis and Clark Community College. He has
specialized in outdoor drawing for more than 15 years.
Snail Scott
...Snail Scott has been a sculptor for 15 years, exhibiting from New
York to California. Snail earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from
the University of New Mexico and her Master of Fine Arts from
Washington University in St. Louis. Snail works primarily in
clay, bronze and mixed media. She has taught at Lewis and Clark
Community College, the Nevada Museum of Art, Washington University, and
the Cambridge Montessori School.
