Southwestern Illinois SCORE is part of SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business," a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small businesses.
Southwestern Illinois SCORE provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. Southwestern Illinois SCORE also offers workshops, for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs.
SCORE volunteers are real-world professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. Counselors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation. We have assisted many clients in obtaining business loans.

Is Starting a Business Right for You?
Attend this comprehensive series of workshops to help you test your new business idea and gets you started on the right path. Free one-to-one counseling is also a part of the workshop process.
Session 2: Business Concept (September 7, Hayner Library at the Alton Mall. 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The second workshop focuses on your business concept and step-by-step guidance in researching your idea, your market, and your competition. At the end of the Business Concept workshop, you are able to: identify your target markets, describe your products and services, and collect key competitive information to support your feasibility plan.

Recent Open House at Alton Square Mall a Huge Success
An open house was recently held at Alton Square Mall to provide the public with information about our local SCORE chapter and its activities. Many SCORE volunteers were in attendance answering questions related to the many services we provide to individuals who are interested in starting or improving a business. Free Counseling
Get face-to-face counseling with one of our volunteers. Calling the Southwestern Illinois SCORE Office during normal business hours at 618-467-2280 and ask for the form titled ”Request for Counseling”. It will be mailed or faxed to you.
Before your first session with SCORE, please review the Preparation Page so that you can discuss your business ideas and maximize your time with your counselors.
